Clay Pots is a community center i the Mount Clare neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore that is focused on education, workforce development, wellness, harm reduction, and community building. Clay Pots offers programming in these areas to help our community grow holistically. Volunteer opportunities include the chance to help support our GED and ABE students on their education journey though consistent weekly tutoring sessions. Volunteer hours vary. Maryland New Directions is looking for 10 to 15 volunteers. to conduct practice interviews and provide constructive, confidence building feedback. Blood Cancer United hosts a yearly community event called “Light the Night.” Patients, families, and supporters come together to bring light to the darkness of cancer with lanterns we hold to the sky in memory of those no longer with us and those battling today. “Light the Night” event will be held on Friday, October 9th at 1101 Russell Street (M&T Bank Stadium), Baltimore, Maryland 21230. There will be 2 shifts for this event: Shift 1 – 12:30pm – 5:30pm – Set up, make lanterns, set up tables, kid zone, and more. Shift 2 – 5:00pm – 10:00pm – Event volunteer, pass out lanterns, help cheer on walkers at the starting line, and more.
