As we prepare for the Fall 2025 Faculty Convocation ceremony, we are excited to invite nominations for distinguished faculty to serve as our keynote speakers. The convocation speakers play a vital role in inspiring and motivating students, faculty, and staff as they embark on a new year.

We welcome nominations of faculty who embody the core values of our University community and have made significant contributions to their respective fields. Whether you are a renowned scholar, visionary leader, accomplished professional, or influential figure in public service, we seek individuals whose achievements and insights will resonate with our University and inspire your colleagues to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. If this describes you, we encourage you to nominate yourself for this amazing opportunity.

You may submit your nomination by sending an email to provost@umaryland.edu no later than Wednesday, May 21, 2025. A case will be created in Interfolio on your behalf, and you will be provided steps on how to complete your nomination packet. The deadline to submit a nomination packet is Monday, June 2, 2025. This is open to faculty from any school within the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

The convocation speaker selection committee will carefully review all nominations and consider each candidate's qualifications, relevance, and potential to inspire our students, faculty, and staff. We appreciate your participation in this important process and look forward to receiving your nominations.
