The State of EDI at the University of Maryland School of Medicine
Dr. Diane Forbes Berthoud, Vice President and Chief Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, presented the third convening of Schools to discuss the State of Equity, Diversity, and inclusion at UMB. Dean Mark Gladwin of the School of Medicine gave a summary of the state of EDI at his school. In the fall of 2023, the University officially launched the university’s first ever Diversity Strategic Plan centered around the premise of REPS. Recruitment and Retention Experience Professional Development and Career Advancement Scholarship, Service, and Education To ensure greater accountability and strengthen the impact and sustainability of the Plan, each school will share a summary of the state of EDI in their area following the REPS structure and propose strategies for improvement.This event took place in person in the SMC Elm Ballrooms and virtually in this Zoom webinar.
