Accepting Nominations for Employee Recognition Awards

Please help us recognize the outstanding staff members we have across the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) by applying for or nominating someone for one of the following Employee Recognition Awards:
Community Service Award: The Community Service Award recognizes excellence by UMB employees in their commitment to improving the lives of others through community service on the local, national, and international levels. A $750 award is presented annually to a deserving staff member (Nominate or apply by Jan. 31, 2025).
James T. Hill Scholarship: In recognition of James T. Hill's long and outstanding service to the University and his personal commitment to the professional development of UMB employees, a $2,000 educational scholarship is presented annually to a deserving employee. Scholarship funds may be applied toward training, professional certifications, degree programs, or other professional development needs, including conference registration, program materials, licensing exams, and other related fees (Apply by Jan. 31, 2025).
Employee of the Month: The Employee of the Month Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of UMB staff. Eligible staff members are nominated for exemplary performance on the job and awarded with $250 (ongoing submission).
After the submission deadline, winners will be selected based on an internal review committee managed by Human Resource Services. Recognition committee volunteers for 2025 will be selected in January.
