How about trying to gloriously fail?That's the charge given by Kimberly Lumpkins, MD, MBA, associate professor, in the Department of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.Dr. Lumpkins, who has been a faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Medicine since 2014, is chief of the school’s Division of Pediatric Surgery and surgeon-in-chief at University of Maryland Children’s Hospital.She treats children with general or urological surgery needs and has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and the care of complex urogenital and pelvic anomalies. She is American Board of Surgery-certified in general and pediatric surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a fellow of the Royal Collegeof Surgeons of England. Lumpkins has received the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons’ Gold Medal, been named a “Top Doctor” by Baltimore magazine multiple times, and was recognized as among Maryland Top 100 Women by The Daily Record in 2021.
