Join fellow transit riders and supporters at the Maryland State Capitol as we ask elected officials to fund frequent & reliable bus and rail service in the Baltimore area. Bring friends & family – especially if they use MTA transit for work, school, health care, shopping, or recreation. Even if you don’t currently take transit but know it has to be better, please join us on February 4. Elected officials need to see your presence and hear our voices! Speakers will include MTA riders, transit workers, and elected officials. Free buses to Annapolis will leave from multiple locations in Baltimore. Stay tuned for more details! Join our team as a volunteer docent and share your Baltimore experience as you interpret the museum’s exhibitions. Complete the form below to register for our upcoming trainings. During the session, you’ll learn:  Key insights on Civil Rights history Storytelling techniques to engage visitors Methods for connecting with guests of all ages and tour the museum!  The training includes a one-day session, followed by a mock tour at a later date, and flexible future volunteer opportunities.

Tammy’s Angels, a compassionate community organization, is thrilled to announce our upcoming Street Outreach event. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting those facing adversity, we will host a day filled with various activities to bring joy and a sense of belonging to our cherished homeless community.   We encourage volunteers of all backgrounds and skill sets to participate. Whether you have previous experience or are new to volunteering, your dedication and enthusiasm are all we require. As a volunteer, your responsibilities may include: Assisting with food preparation and serving Setting up and decorating the event venue Engaging with attendees and providing companionship Assisting with event logistics and clean-up

The University of Maryland, Baltimore will be hosting the Annual Spring Service Fair at the Student Campus Center. The Spring Service Fair is a way to connect UMB students with Baltimore’s local non-profits and community-based organizations that share UMB’s Core Values. All agencies attending the fair will provide volunteering or service opportunities for UMB student to expand on knowledge from the classroom and into the heart of the communities we serve. This is a free event for UMB students, staff and faculty.

Community Meals are an opportunity for community members, UMB students, faculty and staff to sit down and enjoy a delicious meal together from a local restaurant while learning more about opportunities offered by the Office of Community Engagement and our local partners. Community meal occur quarterly and alternate between lunch and dinner. Registration is required to volunteer for community meals.  Volunteers are needed to support with set up, food serving, greeting, sign in, and cleaning up after the meal. The time commitment is two hours.  Please note that due to capacity this opportunity is limited to individual sign-ups. Student, staff, and community groups interested in volunteering should contact the OCE directly to learn more about group volunteering opportunities. UMB Students: Successful completion of the UMB Service and Volunteer Micro-course is required to participate in this opportunity.
