UMSOM Dean Mark Gladwin Unveils Pioneering Collaborations and Innovations

On this episode of Virtual Face to Face, UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, will sit down with Dean Mark Gladwin, MD, who is in his second academic year at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), to talk about his goals for the school, research, and the future of medicine. Gladwin has overseen UMSOM as it has recently undertaken numerous groundbreaking partnerships and innovations, including: • partnering with UMB, the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as with the University of Maryland Medical System and Montgomery County, Md., to establish the University of Maryland Institute for Health Computing • plans to launch a neuroscience institute called the University of Maryland-Medicine Institute for Neuroscience Discovery (UM-MIND) • receipt of one of the largest gifts in UMSOM’s history to establish the Kahlert Institute for Addiction Medicine
